We are Lucky!

We are lucky to be getting so much out of one trip. We have the privilege of researching in the environmental science department among MGU’s passionate scholars. We also have the opportunity of visiting Achinakom to interact with its wonderful community and see some spectacular landscapes. And we are especially lucky to be at the university during its international book fair, where the nighttime cultural programs allow us a taste of traditional Indian arts. So far we have seen performances depicting religious themes, with dancers in full elaborate costume. On a different night we heard the traditional chenda drums, as well as a singer in beautiful costume. Last night’s performance included an amazing quartet of two violins and two traditional drums. Through the loud speakers, the rich Indian melodies and rhythms echoed throughout the entire campus. Here are some of the shots we’ve taken. Truly our trip has granted us many aspects of life in Kerala.
