Walking to the Well

After clean and affordable drinking water, one of the main benefits of the rainwater tanks is the time saved. Walking to the well to get water can take hours away from the days of the residents of Achinakom, depending on where in the village they live and how much water they need every day.

This video starts from one of the houses closest to this well. Many households have to walk at least twice this distance to the well.

There are also two other wells that the villagers could use, each farther from the village than the well in this video. Residents of Achinakom have to use all three wells because the amount of water available in each well varies from day to day.

Now that the Rainwater for Humanity tanks are functional, residents no longer have to make this arduous walk on a daily basis.
